President Jeremy Brewster

Jeremy Brewster is a graduate of Buffalo State University and SUNY Oswego. He has degrees in Education and Multidisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Creativity & Change Leadership, Cultural Studies, and Social-Emotional Education. Jeremy is currently a middle school teacher and serves as the President for the Institute for Myanmar United.

Director of Programming William Fogarty

William O. Fogarty is a creative facilitator, educator, and mindfulness practitioner who uses the power of creativity to help others, connect to well-being, and transform their lives. With his Master’s of Science in Creativity and Change leadership from SUNY Buffalo State, he and Jeremy develop creativity and well-being curriculums, programs, workshops, and tools to enhance creativity, Social and Emotional Learning, positive behavior change, and well-being for the people of Myanmar who have suffered at the hands of a violent military coup.

John Cabra Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer

John is a Professor Emeritus at the State University of New York, Buffalo State’s Center for Applied Imagination where as part of a team he focused on researching the science of creativity and facilitating creative thinking. Since 1967, his department has offered the world’s only Master’s program in the scientific study of creativity. It is here where the technique of Brainstorming and Creative Problem Solving (CPS) have their roots. John was the Program Director of his university’s Service-Learning and Civic Engagement program in Myanmar. John is currently a Capacity Builder and Facilitator at Knowinnovation, a company dedicated to advancing scientific innovation for universities around the world.  John is a Fulbright Scholar. He served his Fulbright assignment at the Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga (Colombia). John has also held visiting professorships for the University of La Sabana and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, both also in Colombia.

Director of Social Media Taylor Ansuini

Taylor Ansuini is currently enrolled at Buffalo State University where she working on her Master’s Degree in Creativity and Change Leadership. She previously received her undergraduate degree in Music Industry and Business Marketing from SUNY Fredonia. Taylor has served on the board of IMU since 2021.

Director of Fundraising Rachel Voelkle-Kuhlmann

Rachel Voelkle-Kuhlmann spent the last decade working in administrative and fundraising roles the non-profit sector. Recently, she has pivoted to become the founder of Joybrick, which builds encouraging community for small business-owners to leverage intentional creativity to tackle their messiest challenges. She believes that creativity belongs to and is a part of everyone and is passionate about helping others to rediscover their imagination and use the power of creativity to embrace empathy, celebrate diversity, and make possible happen.

Our Founders

Myo Thant was the Co-program Director of the State University of New York-Buffalo State’s Service Learning and Civic Engagement Program in Myanmar. He serves as an organizational design consultant to several organizations such as the Lin Food Company, a family-owned company in Buffalo, New York, and Free Funeral Service Society in Myanmar. Myo Thant also serves as an advisor, talent developer, mediator, and a change leader to a few civil society organizations in Myanmar. He is an expert in Creative Problem Solving and provides leadership training throughout Myanmar.
